DIY Spooky Martha Stewart Snake Wreath and a Winner!

So excited to kick off October and Halloween madness with this beauty (DIY instructions below). I saw this wreath in the 2013 Martha Stewart Halloween Special Issue and knew I wanted to share it with you. I love how the black grapevine makes the whole thing looks like a wriggly Medusa mass of snakes. I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of most Halloween decorations because I like pretty, not creepy. I think it’s hard to find the balance of the two for this holiday. This wreath does it for me, pretty from afar, but eww! creepy up close.
All these snakes made me remember this no sew Medusa costume from Martha Stewart that I have had my eye on in the past. Just think, you can double down on the plastic snakes this year. Baillie is literally consuming The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan right now, so maybe we could do a classical Greek myth family costume extravaganza this year . . .hmm.

I digress. Guess what? I get to give away a copy of this fabulous Halloween Issue, which includes super cool pumpkin DIYs, creepy ways to freak out your guests, projects to infuse your holiday with lights, awesome fluorescent paint and black light ideas and, natch, yummy party fare, including these Pumpkin-Chocolate Whoopie Pies (hello!).
