Could this DIY Beehive Costume be any cuter? This costume will definitely create a buzz as an adorable, bustling hive of bees. Silk flowers, twigs, and of course, bees, all find a sweet home atop a nest of hair made longer with twisted yarn. I love all this yarn-y and flower goodness!
I’m starting to get back into the swing of things after my move to Denver, and even in the midst of this book launch craze! I have lots of new content coming your way. Still, I can’t believe how quickly this Halloween has snuck up on me. Luckily, as part of my relationship with Martha Stewart, each month I have the opportunity to share a fave DIY pick from the magazine. I fell in love with this simple, no muss beehive costume instantly. I thought you would love it too!
2. Part hair into 5 ponytails as shown above; secure each with an elastic band.
3. Use another elastic band to secure middle of a yarn bundle to base of each ponytail. Take half a ponytail and half the yarn in each hand. Twist the hair and yarn in your right hand together a few times in a clockwise direction; repeat with the left hand. Wrap the twisted pairings around each other in the opposite direction until you come to the end of the yarn; secure end with elastic band. Repeat with remaining pony tails.
