Teaching at Create Explore Discover 2013, Lake Tahoe, CA

I am honored and privileged to be teaching again at Create Explore Discover (CED) this year from October 18 to the 20th. CED is held in the beautiful mountains in Truckee, CA, just on the northern shore of Lake Tahoe. Full of creative goodness, CED provides a renewing and inspirational experience. The locale is a spa-like, modern retreat center where the warm mountain pine smell envelopes you with each and every step. The sun is bright and the air is so fresh–perfect for a weekend away. I am teaching three different hand crafts at this retreat–knitting, crochet and embroidery. Come create with me!

My first course is how to add these beautiful crochet trims to pillow cases. I adore these trims as a way to add a hand made touch to gifts or your own linens. The trims are much easier to do than they look and just think of all the possibilities. You could add this crochet embellishment to so many things–hand towels, cut off jeans, gift bags, your favorite t-shirt and more.

My second course is to make these great chunky mittens. These mittens make for the perfect last minute gift. Whip out a pair to give to a friend or send to your favorite niece or nephew. I will include a matching scarf pattern, too!

Last, but not least, in another class, I will show you how to make this beautiful reverse embroidery monogram. I love this technique. It is so easy to do and yet looks so complicated! You can take all three courses from me or mix and match with the other fabulous courses there.

I am joined at this retreat by the most lovely of instructors, including Alessandra Cave and Mati Rose. Such beautiful and talented women with whom I am selfishly excited to spend more time. Mati will be teaching painting. Personally, I would love to take Mati’s painting courses. Here are some beautiful examples of her work:

And some snapshots of her class from last year:

Alex is teaching photography. She was the fabulous instructor in my very first photography course three years ago. I learned so much from her and you will, too. I highly encourage anyone to take one of her classes.

Come join me for this rewarding experience! You deserve a get away to be inspired and renewed!
