Woven Heart Jewelry Dish Pattern and Kits

This woven heart jewelry dish was not planned in my editorial calendar. But recently, when I was playing around with Flax & Twine’s new Linen DK Weight yarn and my new Handmade Hand Loom, inspiration hit me. This simple woven piece transformed into something so functional and pretty. I adore the neutral, fuzzy heart detail nestled in the beautiful linen. I knew I wanted you to be able to make it, too. Weave the dish for yourself or a friend. Measuring 5" x 5” it’s the perfect dish to hold your favorite things!

This piece is made by weaving a simple square on a hand loom, and adding a fun shape to the middle. Don’t let that scare you, there are great step-by-step photographic directions in the pattern! Plus, it’s a great way to learn or to practice weaving shapes. Or, you can easily make this woven jewelry dish with no shape in the middle at all so it could be a great first woven piece. I love how the textural linen fabric brings light, and the heart, love, to your dressing table.

This piece is made quickly on my new Flax & Twine Hand Loom Kit, which is small and compact, and perfect to travel with. It will quickly become your favorite tool on which to make smaller pieces. The jewelry dish is a great quick project! It only took me a few hours to weave from start to finish.
