Manda and Caitlin of The Merry Thought Pouf Tour Stop
I love The Merry Thought. It’s one of those blogs that is so consistent in style and aesthetic that you can recognize their projects in a quick pitter-patter “i love that” heart beat. The blog is chock full of beautifully simple and elegant ideas that are innovative and creative in the best way. I was thrilled when they told me they wanted to be a part of the tour. The photo above not only features my pouf but also includes an amazing hanging chair DIY that I really want to try! I don’t normally DIY with a drill, but this project could convince me. I hope this is only the beginning of working with Caitlin and Manda and I look forward to meeting them in person some day!
Delia Randall of Delia Creates Pouf Tour Stop
Delia Randall writes the blog Delia Creates where she makes all sorts gorgeous things. Delia sews, crochets, crafts and whips up delightful things in the kitchen. She shares her pouf and favorites from the book here.
As a multi-channel maker myself, this Jane-Of-All-Trades, Delia, enamored me from the moment I saw her work, especially because she does it all so well! Add to that the fact that she’s sweet and funny and deeply caring, and if you don’t already, you will soon love Delia, too.
Delia asked me to make her pouf in a mix of two shades of gray. Holding two colors together with two strands each provides this great tweedy feel and adds a visual interest to the fabric that I love.
I don’t think Delia’s daughter cares one way or another about the look, but she is clearly floored by the cushy, cozy warmness of it all. I mean who doesn’t want to dive in to all that softness? People often ask me what I stuff the poufs with. I generally like to use inexpensive alternative down comforters in the color of the yarn used. I find mine here on Amazon or at Target.
Meredith of One Sheepish Girl Pouf Stop
Last but not least is a pouf stop with the lovely and talented Meredith Crawford of One Sheepish Girl. Meredith has her own beautiful book out on crochet. Trust me when I say you will fall for her fabulous fiber skills in no time!
Meredith has just the right mix of old fashioned, hip and modern all at the same time. Peruse her patterns and projects and you’ll walk away with a to-make list a mile long.
Meredith chose this luxe white which is always one my faves. There is something about white on white that gives me goosebumps. What about you? What’s been your favorite pouf of them all?
Sigh, I’m more than just a little bit sad that this is the end of the pouf tour. Don’t dismay though, there are so many more fabulous projects in the book in addition to the pouf! Here’s a little known behind the scenes secret about the tour: I made all 12 of the Great American Pouf Tour poufs in a matter of 2.5 days. That’s fast! That means with just a handful of hours, you too can learn how to arm knit and whip up your own pouf of lofty goodness. Go ahead, give it a whirl!
