Arm Knit Lace Pillow in Woman's Day
These yellow arm knit lace pillows are from a pattern in my book Knitting Without Needles. I was thrilled to find out a few months ago that Woman’s Day wanted to feature them in their spring issue.
They sent me yellow pillows and asked me to find yarn to match. I was a bit dismayed at the prospect (yellow can be tough!) But, luckily, I found some good choices. Cascade Magnum, which is a little bulkier than what I used for the arm knit lace pillow project in the book, has a wide range of colors, and had two yellows that worked! I adjusted the pattern to use 3 strands at a time instead of 5, and I think they turned out beautifully!
When I received the magazine, I was excited to discover that the arm knit lace pillow was also featured on the Contents page! What a thrill. Check out the rest of the issue – lots of fun bright spring-y things to enjoy!
If you had told me a few years ago that one of my projects would be featured in a major national magazine, I would hardly have believed you. It amazes me what you can accomplish if you have a vision, and keep moving towards it. My father always said to me, “Just pick away at it, and little by little you’ll make more progress than you realize.” I’m such a hard worker, I’m always thinking about what I want to accomplish next, and pondering where I want to go. Sometimes, I forget to pause for a second and just celebrate how far I’ve come.
So hip, hip, hooray for seeing my work in the glory of shopping aisle pages! And, here’s hoping that you are working on your dreams coming true as well! Tell me, what’s your goal? Or, tell me what height you’re amazed and proud of yourself for obtaining. I want to know!
