What an amazing week I had last week.
I kicked it off with a special trip to
Martha Stewart’s American Made Event.
What a treat to experience the beautiful craftsmanship of the
nominees for this wonderful program. The American Made Awards honor makers from across the country for innovation and excellence in their field.
Nine winners are chosen by the editors of Martha Stewart Living, while the audience votes on one
Grand Prize winner. Martha’s Circle of Bloggers were invited to join the festivities at the American Made Workshop.
I got to hear
Martha Stewart speak, watch
Sarah Carey create magic in the kitchen and meet some fabulous new blogger friends – so much fun and excitement!
From there, I traveled to Oakland, CA, where I spent a wonderful day with the super-talented
Lisa Congdon, who is truly as lovely a person as everything she creates. Just look at her gorgeous dining room above!
I got to teach over the weekend at
Create Explore Discoverin Truckee, CA. The retreat locale, Cedar Sport Hotel, felt like the most deluxe of spas, with excellent food, modern rooms, down comforters and other wonderful niceties – ah!
And, you’d be hard pressed to find a more charming mountain town than Truckee. With the golden aspens, the mountain air, and the smell of pine, it felt like coming home to me, making my heart ache a little for my beloved Boulder.
What an amazing retreat! Filled with kind, open hearted and warm people, we all reveled in each other’s company and painted, knit, embroidered, photographed and crocheted to our delight.
It’s always a treat to relax, escape and recharge from my nutty life in Baltimore, even for a little bit.
I’ve gotten a little behind over here (as attested to by the fact that this all happened not this past weekend but the weekend before :)), but am eager to catch up. Hope you all had a lovely fall weekend yourselves.
