If I Had More Hours . . . Pretty Pumpkins

You had me at “no carve!” Well, I don’t hide the fact around here that Halloween isn’t my favorite of holidays, but I love me a good pretty pumpkin, don’t you? Not to mention, I’m always at the 11th hour around here, and these all seem very in-an-hour doable. Now, if I only had more hours!

(1) The Doily Pumpkin may be my favorite pretty pumpkin of all time. It is a beauty from Allyson Baker, which was featured next to my glitter place cards on Creature Comforts – such good company!

(2) The dried foliage mod-podged on to these white pumpkins aren’t far behind on my pretty-meter. Maybe I just like pumpkins shot from overhead? So lovely. These were featured as part of a Country Living pumpkin decorating slide show.

(3) Gold oak leaves on a white pumpkin? Yes, please. I love the golden gourd accompaniment, too. This beauty was on a Better Homes and Garden pumpkin slide show.

(4) I am enamored with gold leaf and have a couple ideas up my sleeve that involve using a bit o’ that. In the mean time, I can ooh and ah over these gold leaf gourd place cards from Cupcakes and Cashmere, which are just so pretty on the table.
(5) One of my favorite go-to bloggers these days for beautiful projects and an authentic, earnest voice is Chelsea of Lovely Indeed. I love this String and Nail Art “Boo” Pumpkin! Maybe not as “pretty” or as “easy”, but just too cool not to include. See her gold paint pen gourd sitting on top – now that’s easy AND pretty!

Well, can you guess what I’m doing this weekend? The kids won’t take anything but a traditional carved pumpkin, so breaking out the newspaper and knives with my 8, 9 and 10 year old this weekend (who thought this was a good idea, anyway!?) Couldn’t we all just pull out a paint pen and be happy?? Hope you all have a lovely, warm, PRETTY fall weekend.
