New Knit Collage Knit-A-Long With Wildflower Yarn
Ooooh! I have to say I’m pretty excited about what I’m working on right now. Amy Small is sharing a great Knit Collage Knit-A-Long that I get to be a part of! Before I share the various patterns she’s included in the KAL, I want to share this beautiful yarn! Wow!
Made by hand, artisans create Wildflower yarn from strips of super soft, cotton voile fabric. The fabrics are all printed in traditional Indian paisley and flower designs. The yarn is a happy mix of old world India prints paired with modern colors. The craftswomen Amy works with receive the fabric, then cut it into strips and knot it together to make each skein. Wildflower yarn is perfect for warm weather projects or knitters with wool allergies. The fabric is lightweight, so even though it calls for a larger needle size, the end result is still light and airy…and quick to knit! You can even use this yarn to make the Basketweave Pillow from Weaving Within Reach! Plus, it arrives in such a pretty package!
Below, find the sumptuous, textured sweater I will knit for this KAL. This pink and yellow spring loveliness makes me so happy.
Not to mention, I love the macrame knotting detail at the bottom. Super cool!
This macrame sweater isn’t the only incredible item in the KAL. You can choose which project you want to make and do it with other like-minded folks. Check out this beautiful shawl.
I’m a fan of this over-sized chunky cardigan as well! So much fun with the fabric yarn insets in this Knit Collage Knit-A-Long.
Finally, you can get all the details on the KAL on the Knit Collage site. But the basics are: Go order the goods for your favorite sweater or accessory any time between 4/11 and 4/18 to get FREE SHIPPING. Begin knitting with everyone 4/29 and have easy to follow steps every Monday after that for five more Mondays. It’s a great way to really feel that knitting community. Every Monday, you receive emails from Amy with different techniques and links to videos. Find all the classes on Teachable, with places to interact and ask questions. This isn’t my first rodeo either. I had a blast enjoying Amy’s last KAL and completed some weaving and knitting together! Check it out here. As a result, I’m even more excited about this one.
Yep! I’m jumping for joy over here! Join me as we do it together.
