Mohair Mini Cable Mitts Pattern and Video
Yes! I love announcing another free knitting pattern and video. You will love this beautiful Mohair Mini Cable Mitts Pattern for so many reasons. First, I made a free video where I walk you through every single step of making the mitts. Yes! Second, you get to create cables WITHOUT a cable needle, which everyone should cheer about. Third, these mitts are made in partnership with Yarnspirations.com in delicious Sugarbush Shiver and Drizzle, which is sure to get your mohair excitement burning. Fourth, they are so quick to knit up you can gift them to all your friends and family, as a quick thank you, Mother’s Day gift, or hostess gift.
You can see that the body of the mitt is stockinette, which means fast knitting. In the free video, I show you how to create the beautiful cable detail with hardly any trouble. I love doing cables without a cable needle! I knit these mitts flat because I find it so easy to knit that way. The pattern doesn’t require double pointed needles, though you can use them if you’d like. Then, you just seam them up at the end. I show you exactly how!

Fingerless mitts are the best in spring weather because they keep your hand warm while letting your fingers do their thing. I love these for early morning dog walks or trips to the farmer’s market. Allie and I even conveniently ran into a puppy on our shoot!
These mitts have a thumb, which is important to me. The thumb increase on these mitts makes a very cool detail along the outside of the thumb. I designed the thumb placement offset in the mitts for utmost comfort. I can’t abide a thumb that comes straight out the side!
To achieve the texture, I layer in a strand of Sugarbush Drizzle with the lovely Shiver as I knit to get that pretty mohair halo around these mitts. Mohair is fabulously romantic and lovely.
I designed the Mohair Mini Cable Mitts Pattern in partnership with Yarnspirations. This series excites me because I get to bring you free videos, patterns, and easy-to-find yarn. I have a few more patterns coming out this year so keep your eyes peeled, or sign up for my newsletter to stay in the know. Is there something you’d like to see? Tell me in the comments below! If you’re looking for the last set, check out the great ragg mittens, scarf, and hat I designed last winter.
Allie and I had so much fun on this shoot. We found this great new warehouse wall with these fabulous windows. Moreover, Allie even made me get on the other side of the camera! Shocking, I know! See how perfect these mitts will fit the favorite Mom in your life? I made a pair for my mom, as well. You, too, have plenty of time to knit a pair or two up by Mother’s Day. And, with the video, you’ll have no problem figuring it out.
Lastly, Allie was pretty happy to be done with the shoot (no tulips were harmed in the shooting of this Mohair Mini Cable Fingerless Mitt Pattern).
