Miniature Terrarium DIY

Miniature Terrarium DIY

I recently received a lovely Miniature Terrarium DIY book in the mail the other day from Tuttle Publishing. When I paged through it, I knew that Allie, my daughter, and I had to try it. Personally, I am obsessed with plants and tiny plants in tiny containers get me even more excited!

Miniature Terrariums gave us lots of ideas and the basic steps for how to make these terrariums. The book includes a broad range of ideas and materials to alter your look and planting environment depending on what you have available. And, of course, going shopping for the little plants made me super happy!

The process was a little messy, but nothing a broom couldn’t clean up and Allie and I had so much fun doing it together.

Here they are on my mantle. I’ve since painted the brick white, which excites me to no end. Note, if you aren’t buying succulents, you need to keep on top of the watering a bit.

I thought about hanging them from the ceiling, but I kind of like having them close enough to look into regularly.

Everything is so miniature and sweet! For those of you with black thumbs, it’s easy enough to remove a dead plant and replace it with a new one.

And before you know it, they’re done. I added a little moss to the front of one of them to add some additional green. I hope you love your new miniature terrarium DIY. We’re so excited about ours.
