This Week: Seeking the Essential
Spring is in full bloom around here. Lots of gorgeous cherry blossoms everywhere (and tulips and daffodils, of course)! I’ve never been a big spring cleaner, but honestly this weekend I’ve been diving in despite the gorgeous weather outside. This weekend is all about shedding. My goal is to declutter both physically and mentally. I’m keenly feeling the need to relinquish excess and get down to the essential. I want my life to feel full of what I want and love, not stretched so thin I can barely enjoy what I have.
Do you guys know that feeling? Well, I’ve decided it’s finally time to make some changes. I’ll be sure to let you know how it’s going as I progress as it will likely affect how things are here in this space, too. Not to worry, my goal is to focus more on doing what I do best and on what I love and less on the other junk. I’m pretty sure that means more goodness and consistency here! On that note, a couple of great resources for you:
:: I highly recommend this book Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown. I’m telling you we all need to approach life with the essential in mind. This book is changing my world.
:: I started using TeuxDeux and I am thrilled and how its helping me organize my life. It’s simple, clean, easy to use, and an effective way to download ALL the things bouncing around in my head, which is A LOT. Finally, all those great ideas won’t be lost in a notebook, on a slip of paper or somewhere deep in my iphone notes!
Other lovely things I saw this week:
:: Hannah Fettig released her self-published book Home & Away and it all looks gorgeous. I want to go to Maine, sit by the sea, and cozy down with a book and knitting for a few weeks, don’t you?
:: Jennifer wrote a fabulous article on creating a daring life for your little ones.
:: I think this little knit beanie (free pattern) is adorable.
:: Loving these charming hanging diamond succulent planters.
:: Ashley does it again with another fab gold + shimmery IKEA hack that we all do immediately!
All photos in this post are from my Instagram feed. Would love to see you there!
I hope you are having splendid weekends. Leave me a link below to your favorite things from this week! I want to know.
