Avery Woven Trivet Kit (Makes 2)

I ordered Olive 136yd Flax & Twine 5mm Ashton Braided Cotton Rope and the
One Flax & Twine Daytime Linen Fingering Weight Mini Spool in Ivory, I have not started the project because the Ivory twine will show thru when i weave and believe a matching color would show better

Overall I really enjoyed making these trivets. The video was very easy to follow and my end products turned out well. I did have two issues - like other reviews I've seen it was tricky to get the measurements / spacing on the hoops correct. When I followed the suggested distance between each warp I didn't get to 27 so I had to fudge things a bit but was able to get it to work. The other issue I had was that on the 9 inch hoop the warp thread broke when I was only about 1/3 of the way done. This happened twice. I did reach out to Anne and she was incredibly accommodating to help me address this issue. I only mention it as its probably a good idea to be careful how much your rope is rubbing against the warp threads as you pull through them. Overall though I ended up with two nice looking trivets - enough so I ordered more supplies to make additional trivets !

Avery Woven Trivet Kit (makes 2)

The kit I received was beautifully packaged and the contents and materials are superior. I have however struggled with making the suggested measurements work with the 7 inch hoop, which is the hoop I started with. The video directions state that there should be 27 marks, all 13/16ths apart. When I did this, I only had 26 marks. (Just as an aside, I have been a quilter, cross-stitcher and macrama-er for many years so I am familiar with measuring.) Then when I looked at the written directions, the directions state that the measurement should be at 3/4 of an inch, or 12/16th. So I erased my original marks and used the 12/16th measurement. This yielded more than 27 marks. I did both measurements several times. My husband even stepped in and he could not get it to work. So I decided to "adjust" the last few marks the best I could to get started. When I started stringing the twine, the "hole" that should be towards the center of the hoop was off. Again, I tried several times, adjusting and readjusting. I REALLY want to like this project! But, at this point I have set it off to the side as I was getting very frustrated. I have not been inclined to go back and try. I'm wondering if I should return the product. I'd love any feedback if anyone has it!
