Halloween Ghost Decorations, Butternut Squash, Of Course!
Last but not least for my butternut squash extravaganza, go glam with these Halloween ghost decorations. Yes, there’s still time tomorrow! Grab a butternut squash and some glitter and go to town! I couldn’t resist these pretty pastels. Who says ghosts need to be white?
I mean look at this lilac glamour girl, isn’t she stunning!?
Add the spiders for your dose of Halloween spookiness, if you please. The giant paper spiders, the spider web runner, along with the gorgeous antiqued paint, are all part of my #12MonthsofMartha box. So, if you’re in need of some last minute decor, a party is easy to throw together. If you’re in love with the polka dot napkins, like I am, I bought them at the beautiful boutique, Clementine. They have a gorgeous store in Vermont, but also have a wonderful online presence.
DIY Glitter Butternut Squash Ghosts:
Materials
Martha Stewart Vintage Decor Paint in Antique Sky, Azul Parisiene, and Lilac (love the chalky, matte feel of this paint)
Vintage Decor Paintbrush
MS Tinsel Glitter
Painter’s tape for top and to mask for glitter
MS Glittering Glue
Sharpie for face
Paint the squash in desired colors. I did two coats. Let dry, and draw on face.
Mask the bottom of the squash at an angle with painters tape. Apply glue liberally where you want the glitter. Shake the desired glitter on the glued area. Slowly remove tape being careful not to peel off paint. It came off pretty well. Display!
Well, onward and upward! No more squash for now, I promise. Lots of Halloween fun on tap for tomorrow. Off to try to get some rest before all the craziness breaks loose!
