Easy Last Minute Holiday Table Setting DIY
Well, we’re in the home stretch running toward Christmas now. I wanted to share an easy, last minute holiday table setting idea with you! These clip-on cardinals caught my eye when I was out holiday shopping. I was smitten immediately, and I knew I wanted to use them on my table this year. Let me tell you why!
First, cardinals were my father’s favorite bird. He used to get giddy and call us all over to the window if he found one outside. His enthusiasm over birds always felt like the energy of the young boy in him, absolutely enchanted by nature. He was often like that.
Now that my father is gone, these bright birds always make my heart beat a little faster, thinking of my Dad. When I see a cardinal, I feel like he’s here with me, watching, enjoying, and playing along with us. I treasure those serendipitous moments, when you see a sign that tells you your loved one is with you.
Second, this table setting took about 5 minutes to do! In the crazy holiday rush, I am all for that!
Finally, the red is just so striking on as a last minute holiday table setting , don’t you think? And, really inexpensive to boot!

Materials
Clip-on Cardinal Bird Ornaments
Evergreen Branch
Glass Jar or Vase
Making the centerpiece is as simple as cutting a branch from the bottom of your Christmas tree, clipping on one of the birds, and placing it in a glass jar or vase. Next, make some extra clippings from your tree, and sprinkle them on the table. Finally, pin a bird to each napkin, along with a greenery clipping. Add some candles and you’re done!
Here are the birds on Amazon if you want them shipped by tomorrow! Or, I found mine at my local Joann’s.
Now, kick back and focus on making some yummy eats! I hope you all have a marvelous holiday!
I am taking a little time off to enjoy the holidays with my family! I’ll be back and blogging with you in the new year. Look for a new post January 4th. I’m so looking forward to some down time! I hope your loved ones are close! If they have passed, I hope you find your own little sign that they are with you, too!
