Save $600 With Professional Hair Color At Home

Save $600 With Professional Hair Color At Home Using eSalon

I’m smiling this big for a reason. I just discovered eSalon and found an easy way to save $600 a year by touching up my roots at home instead of at the salon. eSalon gives you professional hair color at home with ease! I don’t share a ton of products and services with you guys, but this one is too good not to. Using eSalon just once saved me over $100 in one fell swoop. That’s not like cutting the cable bill $5/month, that’s real savings!

The entire process was amazingly easy and provided truly professional results. I realized that if I do a root touch up at home in between my regular hair highlighting appointments, that one time savings will really add up over the year! Come take a look at my behind the scenes process, along with before and after photos, and I know you’ll be as excited as I am! Here’s a before shot:

I am 40+ and getting grayer every day. Beginning about 4 weeks after I get my hair done, I start watching those gray roots come in along with my naturally drab color. Sigh. I open up my calendar to see how long before my next appointment. 4 more weeks, double sigh! Two weeks later, my kids start commenting on how bad my hair is getting. Ack! A week after that, I call my hair stylist to see if they can squeeze me in early. Rats! I have to wait.

When I finally make it into the salon for my appointment, I am beyond relieved and thrilled to get my hair done! At the end, I WANT to schedule my next appointment 6 weeks later, but I end up making it 8 weeks later to save myself money. Of course, I then regret that decision when I get to this point again. I cringe seeing the photo below. Did I walk around town like that?

When eSalon contacted me asking if I would try their online at home color service, I was skeptical. Those boxes at the drugstore have always scared me. They assured me it wasn’t like that and would be like getting professional hair color at home. Honestly, I thought there was no way eSalon would get my color right over email and with website info. But, I needed color badly. I figured why not give it a whirl. I would be one happy camper if I learned how to get professional hair color at home with ease.

In the end, eSalon was right, the color was spot on! At $20, the touch-up is a total steal. Better yet, I get to offer it to you for $10! Then the service and follow up I received about the color afterward was outstanding. Did I want to tweak it? The folks at eSalon know their stuff. Also, the entire process was simple!

First, you go through a detailed questionnaire about what you want and what your current color is. You upload a few photos and they contact you with any questions. Then, you receive a box including the your own custom color with detailed instructions that walk you through the entire process. This was so reassuring to me as I have never colored my hair at home.

Everything you need for professional hair color at home comes in the box (except for clips for your hair and a towel for your shoulders). eSalon includes stain guard and stain remover as well. You begin by mixing up your customized color with an activator. These are salon quality ingredients, too! Next, pin up your hair into four sections and started painting away. The front sections of my hair were very easy to do. Make sure you get the strands around your face. I managed to miss the very front strands and some around my temple, which I won’t miss next time!

After the front, you hit the back. I have to admit that when it came to the back of my head, I ended up asking my friend who was photographing to help me finish up. Once you get comfortable doing it at home, I don’t think this will be necessary. But, honestly, I enjoyed doing it with a pal. Make a girls night with a friend, get professional hair color at home, blow each other’s hair out, and hit the town for a marg when complete!

It took my hair 30 minutes to process. After that, I jumped in the shower, mixed the rest of the color through my hair, let it sit for a few minutes, rinsed and I was done! The results impressed me. No need to go back to the salon for another six weeks and money in my pocket!

To my amazement, I received an email a few days later asking if the color worked and if I needed to change it at all. eSalon keeps notes on my color and will adjust it as needed, keeping track of it all. You can even speak to them on the phone if you want!

And, I hope you buy some beautiful yarn with your savings!

This post was sponsored by eSalon, however, all opinions are my own. I certainly wouldn’t have shared the photos if it had bombed! Love you guys!
